Leaping into 2023
Excited to start a new chapter working on projects!
There was an intense rain storm the last night of 2022. My husband and I were making dinner and half way through cooking the power went out. Thankfully it was a gas stove so we scrambled for our phones as we finished in the dark.
Something about a power outages always makes me feel like a kid again. Kind of like an adventure is about to start and we have limited tools to complete our quest. The fun part was having dinner by candle light and then playing around of the card game Star Realms. He kicked my butt.
The power wouldn’t return until the next day, and as the rain poured I can’t help but see it as the the universe clearing out the old year to make way for the new one. Because the next day it was nothing but blue skies.
It’s a good summary of the year 2022: Stormy outside, many things going wrong, but you make the best of it and find a way to make “what is” fun. It was a tough year. There were a lot of personal losses and lessons to be learned. And if you are happy 2022 is done you are not alone!
I read that 2023 is the year of the rabbit, so maybe we can see it as a chance to LEAP into a fresh start. Speaking of leaping, there are plans to do a print run of the first 60 page book of Monster Heart. A new cover is in the works and I’ll be doing a small print run test for my Patreon supporters.
If the print run tests well I’m thinking of running a kickstarter for it.
